Sales of Maine homes jumped 18.38% last month compared to January of last year.
Prices paid were also up year-on-year by 15.57% with the median sales price (MSP) statewide standing at $255,300. The MSP indicates half of properties sold for more and half for less.
The state trend was echoed both regionally in the north east and nationally with both units sold and prices on the up.
Low interest rates and a lack of inventory continue to be the drivers behind the robust market.
