Maine home sales and prices paid soared in October according to this week’s figures published by Maine Listings.
Cumberland county leads the way in terms of average sales price with York county not far behind.
The latest numbers serve as financial food for thought for those toying with the idea of selling over the holiday period.
The number of homes sold was up a whopping 22.78% last month when compared to the same month last year. The median sales price (MSP) for those homes was up a huge 19.56% to stand at $273,500. MSP indicates half of homes sold for more and half sold for less.
The MSP for Cumberland is now $375,000 and in York the amount is $355,000.
Industry experts cite, low inventory, low mortgage rates and out of state buyers viewing Maine as something of a safe haven from the worst ravages of COVID-19 for the impressive numbers.
